The Horse: Its Treatment in Health & Disease: with a Complete Guide to Breeding, Training and Management. By Prof J Wortley xe, MRCVS.

Description

More than 100 years ago, horses were a crucial part of everyday life, in transport, farming, and many other aspects.

This incredibly detailed nine-volume set from 1907 outlines the origin and development of the horse, and its breeding, training and management, in health and disease, and much more.

It has been written in the simplest possible language consistent with a clear enunciation of the subject.

Green decorated Art Nouveau bindings. Black and white and colour plates across all volumes, foldout pedigree tables and on the rear pastedown endpaper of volume 6, is a “Model” The Hoof of the Horse; in another shows the teeth of the horse.

It is illustrated with multiple colored overlays including a tissue guard with an explanation and identification table.

Some foxing to some of the pages, understandable given their age.

This will look fabulous on your shelf – a very worthwhile investment for the equine aficionado.
